Could Guida/Pettis be Fight of the Year?

If I were to sit and list the 5 most exciting fighters in today’s MMA, my list would go like this:

Jose Aldo
Clay Guida
Jon Jones
Anderson Silva
Anthony Pettis

The fact that two of the athletes I just mentioned will be fighting this weekend, and that it’ll be a non-PPV event should make you even more excited. That’s right fellow fight fans, you will be able to see this match-up for free on Spike TV this Saturday night.

The minute I heard that the UFC had put Clay Guida vs. Anthony Pettis I was stoked…no I was beyond stoked, I was ecstatic! Unless you are a new fan to MMA this shouldn’t surprise you. If you were to put together the highlight reels of these two guys it would be like watching a Bruce Lee film. Constantly pushing the pace and not being afraid to let their hands go make these fighters must-see-tv.

If you are a new fan, let me show you what Mr.Pettis did in his last fight:

Anthony Pettis Matrix Kicks Ben Henderson [WEC 53]

Jaw-meet-floor! Pettis actually won this fight to win the now defunct WEC lightweight title. Now that they have merged with the UFC he will have to once again climb the ladder to reach the top of his weight division. But whoever comes out on top in this match will get a shot at the winner of Edgar/Maynard III.

I have never seen either man have a boring fight and I would be shocked if the main event this Saturday doesn’t win fight of the night. I would be even more shocked if it isn’t in the discussion for fight of the year. So get ready to watch a great match-up for FREE this weekend and don’t look away…..because it could be over in the blink of an eye.
