Early Life:

Tell us a bit about yourself, where did you grow up and what was life like growing up? (Family, school, friends)

I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I am 25 years old. I was always athletic growing up, playing basketball cheerleading. Loved being around friends and my family.

What is your favorite child-hood memory?

My favorite memory is when we would go to the lake for 4th of July and sit on the boat watching fireworks, always awesome!

Any interesting child-hood stories and/or fun facts?

Something interesting about my childhood… was that I rolled a 4-wheeler and broke my jaw when I was 12 on 9-11.

Getting involved in MMA:

How did you get involved?

I first started coming to the gym after I had my daughter, just to get into shape.

What discipline did you begin with and care to share a bit about your early experiences learning the sport(s)?

I actually started out with boxing. Once I fought, I instantly became addicted. After about 2 years, boxing just wasn't enough. I decided to give mma a try. Fell in love!!

At what point did you know you were ready to step in the cage for the first time?

I knew I was ready to get in the cage when my coach said I was ready, I knew I wanted to fight though, since the beginning.

When the cage locked behind you in your first fight, can you recall what what through your mind? How did your first fight turn out?

My first fight was so awesome, it was such a surreal experience, also so fun!! I came out with the unanimous.

What are 3 things you've learned while being involved in this sport?

I have learned so much since I have started training. I have learned how to build my mind as well as my body. I have learned to be a better person all around. Also I have learned how to push through any obstacles that are in front of me, no matter what. Always to work my hardest.

Current:

What gym are you currently fighting out of?

I fight out of FIT-NHB in Albuquerque.

What is your current record (ammy/pro) and at what weight?

My pro mma record is 3-1. I have no ammy experience, since I was already pro in boxing.

Do you currently have a nickname in this sport? If so, what is it and why?

My nickname is "The Bully" when I was boxing, it was always hard finding opponents, so I had to fight younger girls. Teammates and friends called me a bully so it just stuck.

If you could improve one aspect of your game, what would it be and why?

I am always in the gym constantly evolving, sharpening my skills. Working on everything.

What is your most memorable experience as an MMA fighter?

My most memorable moment in mma was when I got the W in Japan!!!!

Any interesting stories to share or learning experiences whilst fighting you would like to share?

Something I think that is very cool, that not many people can say they have done is go to Tokyo twice in 2 month to fight!!

If you could offer one bit of advice to an aspiring fighter what would it be?

To anyone wanting to pursue their goals or dreams, I say Never Give Up!! Always work hard and stay focused and dedicated.

Would you like to give a shout out to any sponsors individuals who have supported you?

I would like to thank my coaches, Tom Vaughn, Jon Judy, Arlene Sanchez. ALL of my Wildbunch family. Max Muscle Rio Rancho, Damage Control Mouthguards, MeiLi Fighting, my husband Joe, and my family, AND every single person who believes in me and supports me.

Future:

What are your goals for the future in the sport?

My goal is just to get to the top. I know I'm the best, I just need to prove it to everyone else.

What are your thoughts on the current state of the sport and where it's headed?

I believe this sport is going in the perfect t direction. I see nothing but success!!

If you could change one thing in the sport, what would it be?

I just want us to be equal with the men, we are just as good of athletes and fighters as they are. Finally people are realizing!!
